Design Wall Monday

I am enjoying my extra time in the studio working with different fabrics and quilt blocks.  Our local quilt shop featured the book, "Australian Spirit" and carried many of the Australian inspired fabrics.  The blocks are colorful and bold.

Eleanor Burns "Underground Railroad" sampler book is the pattern I used for the Bow Tie Block.  I love playing with the shapes and colors.

  2. I love Austrailian fabrics. I don't have many but it reminds me to try my African fabrics in a string quilt. Love your coloring.

  4. String blocks are my all time favorite "return to block". I love them and the choice of fabrics in yours is very interesting. There's a source online where I can get Australian fabrics and I've been tempted to order some. Yours look so bright and fun, I still may do that. Our son lived there for awhile and we visited him there and enjoyed the country immensely!
